WHO WE ARE
WE ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION
STABILITY IN THE MAKING
Our CEO started Under Construction Stability in the Making (or UCSITM) in 2009 as a mentoring program for youth in juvenile jails in Atlanta, Georgia. While the program’s initial goals successfully attended to vulnerable youth, UCSITM began to incorporate a new outlook and vision after October 2016, when Hurricane Matthew hit the Western Atlantic. The storm brought widespread destruction and catastrophic loss of life during its journey, but the disaster sparked new life into UCSITM. While watching the catastrophe on the news, our CEO, Jasmine Maurer, decided to solicit donations and plan a trip to Haiti to offer her support.
Ms. Maurer met with the director of an orphanage in Haiti in December 2016 to hand deliver donations. At that moment, she decided that the best way to assist those in need was to continue what she started in 2009, but on larger scale. So, she got to work. By February of 2017, UCSITM had become incorporated and recognized by all government entities.
Since then, we have sent many donation bags (including hygiene products, school supplies, clothing, and shoes) to Haiti, along with funds for fresh water trucks. We have also made two trips in over a period of six months to hand deliver items. Upon our return from Haiti, we implemented our stateside programs, such as the summer lunch program, teacher classroom supply assistance, and feeding the homeless by providing hot meals and groceries. In fact, we have fed thousands of hungry families at Hunt Park in Downtown Atlanta over the last two years. We are currently seeking community partnerships in other areas of Atlanta to extend our outreach and feed more families for our monthly events. Our vision of servicing vulnerable populations remains and we continue to expand as we work on our current project of providing training programs.
In the future, we would like to provide assistance to international communities that have sustainable plans for community inclusion and stability. We are also seeking funding that will support our second chance communities as we expand our services.
OUR VISION
We envision providing second chance housing for tenants experiencing financial, employment, or life circumstances that have hindered economic stability. Participants in our program will have an opportunity to support our mission through their acquired skills. Participants will also benefit from full-time housing, access to basic living needs, access to skill development, job training, entrepreneurial guidance, and the opportunity to learn how to maintain a stable living environment in order to promote independent living. Grants, social entrepreneurship, and private donations are a welcome and necessary support to achieve our vision of building sustainable housing communities. In 2026, we anticipate offering the first residents this valuable opportunity for sustainable living.
OUR MISSION
The mission of Under Construction Stability in the Making is to collaboratively build economically sound growth strategies and methods of empowerment to foster the advancement of the community. Our goal is to create stability for homeless and economically vulnerable families within the community.
